Here is what I've learned over the years:
🛏️ 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁 Sustainable success requires adequate rest and recovery. Rest is not unproductive. It is an essential part of your strategy for success. Purposeful rest means understanding the importance of quality sleep, short breaks throughout the day, and intentional downtime. Whether it's a power nap, a brief walk, or a few moments of mindfulness, these intentional pauses can recharge your energy reserves and boost overall productivity. 𝙼𝚢 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎𝚜? A good 8 hours of sleep, a 20 min meditation in the morning and a brief walk during the day.
⛰️ 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀 Not all hours of the day are created equal in terms of productivity. Identify your peak productivity windows – those times when you feel most alert and focused. Align your most challenging and important tasks with these periods. Leaving room for less demanding activities during lower energy periods. 𝙼𝚢 𝚋𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎? Evening hours.
🔴 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 Setting boundaries is crucial for preserving your energy. Clearly define your work hours and personal time, and communicate these boundaries to colleagues, friends, and family. Challenging? Try it. It ensures that you have dedicated time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation. 𝙼𝚢 𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚊𝚛𝚢? No mobile at the dinner table and no email app on the phone.
👟 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 Movement is essential and ideally a combination of different intensities and interval training. It will bring you lots of energy and counterbalances stress. Adding daily sports to your habits is a game changer. 𝙼𝚢 𝚏𝚊𝚟𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚎? I love a long hike, and try to go in the weekends. During the week, I do running, cross training, spinning, weights and rowing for approx. 40 minutes a day.
Experiment with new techniques, activities, or routines to find what works best for you at different stages of your professional and personal journey.
